For the first time, research shows that American creativity is declining. What went wrong—and how we can fix it.

Seriously, it's pretty clear to me why American kids creativity is in decline.
1. Schools have cut music, art, drama, and poetry to save money.
2. Schools under no child left behind "teach to the test."
3. Kids have too much busy work homework. Kindergarteners are being given homework instead of sent to go play outside after school.
4. Schools continue to emphasize following directions and memorization over critical thinking.
Sometimes I get so angry at the way Americans treat their kids. (I am not in exception, I have two and am far from a perfect parent,) We do everything from play Mozart to our bellies, and take the best prenatal vitamins, but as soon as they go to school they are treated like prisoner 105 and judges on their ability to sit still and follow directions. Then we wonder why our schools fall behind the rest of the world.
