The UCLA Dept. of Physics and Astronomy Mt. Wilson Cam shows how the California fires are encroaching on the Mt. Wilson observatory and telescope.
According to Sky and Telescope:
at this moment the "Station Fire" has moved to within 2 miles of Mount Wilson Observatory and threatens to overrun not only the historic telescopes there but also a dense crowd of television transmitters at the summit.
Here's a link to the Tower Cam operated by UCLA. The Mt Wilson Cam is looking all red and fiery this morning, for sure.
I am sending good wishes to those in the lines of these fires, and especially to the firefighters out there trying to control the blazes.
