My daily check of Google Trends led me to wonder why tons of people were googling "Wolfram's rule 34."
Turns out the popular geeky webcomic xkcd this morning mentions this mathematical rule. Its way beyond my comprehension - seems to relate to the theory of computing in some way. Hey - I can barely understand binary number theory, I think Wolfram's rules are beyond my capabilities. I have lost too many brain cells.
But today's xkcd comic, which is sort of about God creating the universe, is pretty witty.
I like their disclaimer:
Warning: this comic occasionally contains strong language (which may be
unsuitable for children), unusual humor (which may be unsuitable for
adults), and advanced mathematics (which may be unsuitable for
liberal-arts majors).
Hey -as a former liberal arts major I represent that remark.
